Jessica found yoga six years ago and wasn't a fan. Yet, there was something that was drawing her to it, fueling her determination to find a form of Yoga that worked for her. She tried almost all forms, enjoying some, and feeling unsatisfied with others. After finding a heated vinyasa flow that spoke to her, the love for yoga began to grow. Since then, she has grown to appreciate all forms of yoga, and how each style benefits the body, mind and spirit in their unique ways. The journey she took to find her style made her realize that Yoga needs to meet you where you are at and so she created a studio that is all encompassing. play offers a core of heated yoga--her love--and a mixture of all other forms of yoga & types of movement. Jessica is constantly inspired to be playful and open to new experiences, and knows play will inspire you too! |

Sorrel’s love for spirited and playful movement began as a little girl and has continued to grow over the years. Being raised on her family’s organic farm in rural San Diego she learned very early on that connecting her rhythm with the gentle rhythm of nature was vital. When she moved away from the family farm as an adult she found it hard to maintain the strong connection she once had with this rhythm and so she began exploring different forms of movement, expression, meditation and breath work that would allow her to gracefully and with ease enter her place of peace. All this has helped her create a daily practice filled with mindfulness, free of judgment and attachment, and sprinkled with a bit of not taking herself too seriously...and most importantly is full of love, laughter and play! |

Ashley has been an athlete her entire life, and it wasn’t until the constant pounding of marathons, which almost completely sidelined her from running that she finally turned to yoga for help and recovery. After practicing yoga for almost a decade privately, being too intimidated to walk into a yoga studio, her husband convinced Ashley to try hot yoga 4 years ago. She was instantly hooked. The benefits she received from her yoga practice have been amazing, relieving the pain in her knees, reducing the constant inflammation, and balancing out the body.
Ashley completed her 200 EYT in December of 2009 from Core Power Yoga and began teaching a hot flow and yoga sport classes shortly after the birth of her son. She believes yoga is and should be available for every one of all ages and sizes. Her style of teaching makes people feel comfortable to walk into the studio, try something new and feel ok if they don’t bend like a pretzel – there are certainly postures she admittedly struggles with. But yoga is a journey and you have an entire lifetime to experience it.

Erin has recently finished her first year of teaching and absolutely loves her students and the whole staff at PLAY. She always likes to say that "yoga saved her life". After a car accident in 2009, Erin could barely walk upright without extreme pain in her neck, wrist, and hips. Jessica, her friend and the owner of PLAY, would diligently come to her house weekly to gently get her body moving and lengthening. Six months later, after much anticipation, she began a 2 month intensive training to become a certified Yoga Instructor. The first night she went to training was the first time she had ever done yoga in a class setting and in the heat! Although the atmosphere was intimidating at times, she dove right in and never looked back. Erin is constantly amazed at all the wonders a hot room can do for all of our bodies and is so thrilled to have seen so many people grow along with a brand new studio.

Carey comes from a background in sports--playing both soccer and running track in college. After graduating, she found herself longing to keep competing. Carey began running marathons and other races, and found herself in a yoga studio in order to stretch out and loosen up. She was instantly hooked!! She loved that yoga allowed continual growth both on and off the yoga mat. Yoga was something that she could practice, and though it is not competitive--it quickly became her passion. Carey loves that someone can be an individual on the mat, but everyone in the room is unified--working together towards the same goal--to find that bliss. "It's like being part of a team again." Carey's classes are fun, energetic, creative, and challenging and leaves students relaxed and rejuvenated.
